Our Services

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT (RCT)-

Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay repeated dental procedures on the tooth or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

In this process, the dentist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the root canal, then fills and seals the space. The cleaning/disinfection step is an extremely important step and at Dr Ananya’s Dental Care we perform disinfection of the root canal using an ultrasonic activator. After this is done a crown (cap) or other restoration on the tooth is done to protect and restore it to full function. After restoration, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth.

RETREATMENT (RE-RCT)-

After a root canal procedure, some teeth may not heal as expected, or may develop a new infection, necessitating another root canal. This usually occurs when the initial treatment did not remove all of the infection; when decay again accumulates in the treated area; or when the tooth becomes cracked or loose, and is exposed to new infection.

Some patients may not experience any symptoms from a reinfection, while others may experience swelling or pain while chewing. In order to treat a tooth that did not heal properly or has again become infected after a root canal procedure, a re-treatment procedure may be performed to ensure that the tooth is thoroughly cleared of any decay and is able to function.

FULL MOUTH SCALING AND POLISHING

Scaling and root planning is a treatment usually performed during the early stages of periodontal disease to help remove plaque, tartar and mild stains that has built up beneath the gum line. This procedure is considered a deep cleaning, and may be performed to prevent the disease from progressing to a more advanced stage, or to improve the quality of a patient’s tissue before a particular procedure.

After the scaler has removed the plaque and tartar, the treated area is rough and uneven. Root planning smooths the root of the tooth so that the gums can heal and reattach to the tooth properly.

There is little-or-no pain associated with this procedure, and patients can resume their regular activities immediately afterward.

RESTORATIONS (Fillings)

During the filling procedure, the tooth is prepared by removing any decay or damage in the area with a dental hand piece or hand instruments. The surface of the tooth is cleaned and prepared for filling. The filling material is placed in the targeted area, where it will be finished and polished to match the appearance of the natural teeth. Dental fillings are placed during a single visit at Dr Ananya’s Dental Care.

CROWNS AND BRIDGES

A dental crown is a restoration that covers or caps a tooth, restoring it to its normal size and shape while strengthening and improving its appearance. Crowns are necessary when the tooth is broken down to the point where a filling will not be effective

There are several different methods of crown restoration, each using a different crown material. Different types of crown material include:

  • - Metal crown
  • - Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crown
  • - Porcelain or Ceramic crown

Sealants

Dental sealants are a very effective tool in the prevention of cavities. Dental sealants are a thin plastic film or coating that is applied to the surface of teeth. The sealant acts as a barrier between the tooth and food, bacteria and plaque; all of which can cause cavities. Sealants successfully prevent bacterial formation that causes tooth decay and other damage.

The dental sealant procedure takes a few minutes for each tooth. The dentist cleans the tooth and paints/applies the sealant on to the enamel. This coating works like a barrier to prevent plaque from attacking the enamel. At Dr Ananya’s Dental Care we use light-curing, white-pigmented fissure sealant featuring fluoride release that provide optimum seal in pit and fissures even with a complex morphology. A special light is used to speed the hardening and bonding process. As long as the sealant remains intact and in good condition, the surface of the tooth remains protected.

Combined with good oral hygiene that includes brushing and flossing, sealants are extremely effective in preventing cavities. Sealants can help both adults and children, and may need to be re-applied at regular intervals.

BLEACHING (TEETH WHITENING)

Many choices for tooth whitening have been made available at Dr Ananya’s Dental Care. These include home-based products as well as in-office based systems where products containing concentrated bleaching agents or whitening strips are applied under our supervision.

The in-office procedure is a simple 45 minutes painless procedure that may enhance your smile by manifolds.

Its always advisable for the patient to undergo a thorough consultation regarding the best option suited to their state/condition of teeth stains

REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES

Removable partial dentures are prosthetic devices used to replace one or more missing or diseased teeth; restore the appearance and function of the teeth; or reduce the risk of gum disease. This type of replacement is often used when one or more healthy natural teeth remain in the area to support the denture. Patients are able to eat, speak and smile without difficulty once partial dentures are in place.

COMPLETE DENTURES

Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to help patients with missing teeth, chew food, improve speaking habits, and improve the patient’s facial aesthetics. The absence of teeth can lead to a sunken, collapsed appearance to the mouth-area. By restoring the physical presence of teeth, this malformation is corrected, the patient’s mouth is supported and the appearance is improved by aesthetic standards.

Complete or full dentures are only required for people who have lost all or most of the teeth on either of the two arches of the mouth

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY PROCEDURES

Pediatric Dentistry is a dental specialty that concentrates its attention on infants and children providing preventive and therapeutic oral health care.

At Dr Ananya’s Dental Care we offer the following for our pediatric patients:

  • - Digital Xray
  • - Pit and fissure sealant
  • - Pediatric tooth coloured restorations

EXTRACTIONS

A dental extraction, is a common procedure performed at a dental clinic if the tooth cannot be salvaged. The procedure involves removing or pulling a tooth . A surgical extraction may be necessary on certain teeth.

DIASTEMA CLOSURE (GAP CLOSURE)

A diastema is a space/gap between two teeth. It is often between the front two teeth but can be a space between any two teeth. Here at Dr Ananya’s Dental Care, we offer a range of diastema closure treatments to close the gap between the teeth. Depending on the size of the gap, treatment modalities such as composite veneers, crowns, ceramic laminates or orthodontic treatment can be available.

Digital Xray-

Traditional x-rays are printed on film, which means these images have to be developed. The developing process takes time, meaning you and your dentist have to wait for results.

With digital radiography option available at Dr Ananya’s Dental Care, there is no wait!! Almost as soon as we place the sensor in your mouth, the image projects onto our computer screen. It really is that easy!

Moreover, digital radiography requires 90% lesser dose compared to E-speed conventional films thereby reducing patient’s radiation exposure!
